In a recent interview, former CEO of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Senyo Hosi, has heaped praise on Sharaf Mahama for his groundbreaking work in the sports industry, particularly in boxing. "Sharaf is a very fine gentleman. I think his boxing organisation should be supported by all and sundry. I am so proud of what he has done. He has brought hope to the industry and to those who had aspirations in that regard," Hosi said on Accra-based Channel One TV on January 24, 2025.

"Sharaf was actually doing this before his father became president, and it takes a lot. That young man needs support. However, Hosi also called on the general public to support the initiative rather than criticize it unnecessarily. "I think the public should support Sharaf's boxing organisation rather than criticize it. He has brought hope to the industry and to those who had aspirations in that regard," he said.
