You won't believe the transformation of the iconic Melrose Place star, Grant Show! Almost three decades after his time on the hit show, he made a rare appearance, and it's safe to say he's unrecognizable.
During his interview on the Still Here Hollywood Podcast with Steve Kmetko, Grant looked incredibly dapper, sporting a stylish gray blazer and a hint of gray in his hair. It's a far cry from his days as the bad boy Jake Hanson on Melrose Place, where he starred alongside the likes of Heather Locklear and Andrew Shue.
But here's where it gets controversial... Grant revealed that while he loved being part of the show's success, the fame it brought was a double-edged sword. He shared how the intense fame affected his ability to be in public and how it can dehumanize celebrities.
"You start to lose your humanity when you're famous. People don't see you as a person, but as the character you play. It's a one-sided relationship, and it can lead to bad behavior," he explained.
And this is the part most people miss... Grant admitted that fame had made him behave poorly in the past, despite considering himself a decent person. He left the show after season five due to tensions with the producer, Aaron Spelling, who he felt was holding back his acting career.
Despite the challenges, Grant recognizes the impact Melrose Place had on his career. "It's impossible to be that influential in someone's life without leaving a mark. I'm proud of my time on the show and who I am today because of those five years," he said.
Since leaving Melrose Place in 1997, Grant has continued to star in various projects, including Point Please, Dirt, and Private Practice. He's now married to Katherine Lanasa, his co-star from The Pitt, and they have an 11-year-old daughter, Eloise.
