Meet Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux, a 15-year-old Sherlock Holmes enthusiast who became an overnight sensation after his photo went viral. But here's where it gets intriguing: this young man, with his brown fedora, fashionable vest, and confident stance, was mistaken for a French detective outside the Louvre Museum post-jewel heist.
In an interview, Delvaux revealed that he was visiting the museum with his family and had no idea about the robbery when French photographer Thibault Camus captured his iconic image. He explained, "I didn't want to reveal my identity right away. With this photo, there's an air of mystery, and I wanted to keep it going."
Delvaux, who resides in Rambouillet with his parents and grandfather, approximately 30 kilometers from Paris, has a keen interest in detective fiction, particularly Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. His outfit, including an Yves Saint Laurent waistcoat borrowed from his father, a stylish jacket, a classy tie, and Tommy Hilfiger trousers, completed the look of a sophisticated detective.
"People told me I had become a star," Delvaux said, expressing his astonishment at the rapid spread of his photo. "It's incredible how one image can go viral in just a few days."
Initially, Delvaux kept his identity hidden to avoid unnecessary attention, but after a few days, he decided to make his accounts public again. "Journalists started approaching me, and when I told them my age, they were extremely surprised," he added.
